Deck overview

This deck is a Big Red stompy strategy commanded by Purphoros, Bronze-Blooded. The central game plan focuses on deploying early mana rocks to cast Purphoros on Turn 4 or 5. Once Purphoros is on the battlefield, you use its activated ability to cheat enormous, game-warping Dragons and artifact creatures directly from your hand onto the battlefield for just three mana. Because Purphoros grants your other creatures haste, these behemoths attack immediately to inflict devastating combat damage and trigger powerful attack or combat damage abilities. Creatures sneaked in this way are sacrificed at the end step, but cards like Sundial of the Infinite and Feldon of the Third Path let you keep or recur them. The deck uses wheel effects such as Wheel of Fortune and Dragon Mage to refill your hand with fresh threats, while asymmetric board-clearing creatures like Balefire Dragon keep opponents from establishing their own boards before you close the game.
