Deck overview

This deck is an Esper Sphinx tribal midrange strategy commanded by The Ur-Sphinx. It leverages the eminence ability to reduce the casting cost of all Sphinx spells by one generic mana from the command zone. The deck accelerates in the early turns using artifact mana and tribal cost reducers like Urza's Incubator and Watcher of the Spheres. In the midgame, it establishes powerful card flow engines through Unesh, Criosphinx Sovereign, Kindred Discovery, and Consecrated Sphinx. These engines quickly refill the hand while deploying large, evasive flying threats. The deck transitions into the late game by chaining discounted creatures and resolving asymmetric board wipes like Kindred Dominance. It closes games through overwhelming aerial combat, setting opposing life totals to ten with Magister Sphinx, or casting The Ur-Sphinx to mill opponents and cast their spells for free. Robust countermagic and versatile removal safeguard the board while advancing the primary combat clock.
