Deck overview

This deck is a focused Selesnya Voltron strategy helmed by Wilson, Refined Grizzly and the Background Flaming Fist. The game plan revolves around casting Wilson on Turn 2 and Flaming Fist on Turn 3, creating an immediate vigilance, trample, double-strike threat protected by built-in Ward {2}. On Turn 4, the deck attaches powerful stat modifiers such as Ancestral Mask, All That Glitters, or Belt of Giant Strength to deal 12 to 24 commander damage in a single combat step. Because both essential engine pieces reside in the command zone, the deck avoids setup bottlenecks and deploys with high consistency. A comprehensive suite of low-mana protection spells, including Tamiyo's Safekeeping, Heroic Intervention, and Flawless Maneuver, defends Wilson against opposing interaction. While the deck lacks fast combo finishes and must eliminate three opponents sequentially over three combat cycles, its high resilience, uncounterable commander, and explosive damage output make it a reliable combat threat.
