Smaug the Impenetrable - Makin Hella Bands by oohMazzle

Format: Commander

Commander: Smaug the Impenetrable

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is a Rakdos (BR) deck built around Smaug the Impenetrable, a 7-drop indestructible, hasty dragon that generates Treasure tokens whenever it is dealt noncombat damage. The deck's primary game plan is to repeatedly ping Smaug with symmetrical damage enchantments like Pyrohemia and Pestilence or targeted burn spells, creating a massive hoard of Treasures that fuel direct-drain payoffs like Reckless Fireweaver, Mayhem Devil, and Alchemist's Talent. The core win condition is an infinite loop: activating Pyrohemia (or Pestilence) with Smaug on the battlefield deals 1 damage to all creatures and players each time; Smaug's indestructible body survives and creates a Treasure that pays for the next activation, ultimately dealing infinite damage to each opponent. The deck also features alternative paths via combat with large dragons and token synergies.
