Deck overview

This deck is a mono-black Zombie tribal and aristocrats combo deck led by Tormod, the Desecrator. The primary strategy focuses on filling the graveyard, producing Zombie tokens whenever cards leave the graveyard, and draining opponents through repeated creature deaths. Its primary win condition is an infinite loop combining Gravecrawler and Phyrexian Altar alongside a drain payoff such as Ayara, First of Locthwain, Zulaport Cutthroat, Mirkwood Bats, or Bontu's Monument. When the combo is not immediately available, the deck pressures opponents with resilient Zombie swarms, lord buffs, and life-drain bursts from Gray Merchant of Asphodel. Strong recursion spells allow the deck to rebuild quickly from board wipes, while Grave Pact and Noxious Ghoul keep opposing creature boards under control. The deck is vulnerable to instant-speed graveyard hate, enchantment removal, and countermagic due to its lack of stack interaction.
