Deck overview

This mono-green deck executes a focused stompy strategy centered on Ghalta, Primal Hunger. By combining efficient 1-drop mana dorks with over-statted 3- and 4-mana creatures such as Steel Leaf Champion, Pugnacious Hammerskull, and Gigantosaurus, the deck rapidly accumulates 10 to 12 power on the battlefield. This power discount reduces Ghalta's casting cost from twelve mana down to just two green mana as early as turn 4. Once Ghalta enters play, power-matters card advantage engines like Garruk's Uprising and Rishkar's Expertise replenish the hand, while team-wide pumps like Overwhelming Stampede and Unnatural Growth convert high creature stats into overwhelming trample damage. The deck features deep functional redundancy for its primary curve and recovers well from board wipes by chaining replacement fatties. However, it lacks stack interaction and relies on combat damage across multiple turns, leaving its board vulnerable to well-timed board sweepers and targeted removal.
