Deck overview

This deck is a Rakdos group slug and attrition engine led by The Lord of Pain. The strategy focuses on accelerating into early tax and punishment permanents, deploying the commander to prevent opponents from gaining life, and dealing direct damage whenever any player casts their first spell each turn. Supporting enchantments like Oppression and Painful Quandary systematically empty opposing hands, while symmetric burn from Descent into Avernus and Sulfuric Vortex rapidly drains life totals. The deck closes games around Turn 7 by resolving Wound Reflection to double all life lost each turn or casting Blood for the Blood God! to finish off weakened opponents. While the deck applies relentless pressure, it relies heavily on non-creature permanents that are vulnerable to mass enchantment removal.
