Sauron, the Dark Lord by TsulKalu

Format: Commander

Commander: Sauron, the Dark Lord

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is a Grixis amass-Orcs and Ring-tempts deck helmed by Sauron, the Dark Lord. The primary plan is to grow a single Army token through repeated amass triggers - from Sauron himself (amass 1 per opponent spell), Saruman, the White Hand, Mindless Conscription, Corsairs of Umbar, and Bothersome Noisemaker - then suit it up with a dense equipment package (Sword of Feast and Famine, Shadowspear, Whispersilk Cloak, The Reaver Cleaver) and swing for lethal. Sauron doubles as the deck's card-advantage engine: whenever the Ring tempts him, he discards his hand to draw four. A supporting swarm of nine Nazgul grows with each Ring temptation, and The Great Goblin plus Mauhur, Uruk-hai Captain convert counter placement into direct damage. Secondary wins include commander damage on a suited-up Sauron and Mount Doom as a board-wiping finisher. The deck is a midrange value engine that wins through combat inevitability rather than combos.
