"Smaug the Chiefest and Greatest of Calamities" by vincentvanjoint

Format: Commander

Commander: Smaug the Impenetrable

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

Built around Smaug the Impenetrable, this red-black Treasure deck tries to land its seven-mana commander ahead of curve with rituals and fast mana, then use noncombat damage to create a critical mass of Treasure. The primary kill is a repeatable Pestilence plus Pain for All loop: pinging Smaug creates one Treasure and drains each opponent, making the loop mana-neutral and lethal. Secondary paths include Exsanguinate, Hellkite Tyrant or Knuckles the Echidna artifact-count victories, and Orcish Bowmasters plus Peer into the Abyss. Smaug the Magnificent acts as a hidden-style secondary dragon payoff in the 99, but the deck is built to abuse the indestructible, hasted Smaug.
