Deck overview

This deck is a mono-red pillowfort and forced-combat strategy commanded by Kazuul, Tyrant of the Cliffs. The primary plan revolves around disincentivizing attacks against yourself using Kazuul's taxing ability and rattlesnake permanents while compelling opponents to attack each other using goad effects, Fumiko the Lowblood, and global attack mandates. As opponents diminish their life totals and board presence against one another, the deck leverages the Monarch mechanic and impulse draw spells to dig into high-end finishers. Cards like Avatar of Slaughter, Gratuitous Violence, Rite of the Raging Storm, and Warstorm Surge amplify table-wide damage to close out remaining players. The deck excels at dictating combat pacing in creature-heavy pods, but struggles against combo decks, enchantment-based strategies, and board wipes due to its lack of stack interaction, enchantment removal, and hard protection.
