Deck overview

Auntie Ool, Cursewretch helms a Jund midrange attrition deck focused on the strategic distribution and proliferation of -1/-1 counters. The deck's primary game plan revolves around deploying Auntie Ool by Turn 4 and establishing a self-fueling card draw and life-draining engine on Turn 5 using blight mechanics, wither sources, and counter spreaders. By Turn 6, the deck exerts oppressive board control through asymmetric lockdown pieces like Kulrath Knight, Maha, Its Feathers Night, and Carnifex Demon, effectively neutralizing opposing creature combat and stripping resources via Necroskitter and The Reaper, King No More. While the deck possesses a compact infinite combo in Blowfly Infestation and Hapatra, Vizier of Poisons, it reliably wins through compounding combat damage and steady multi-opponent life drain by Turn 8. The deck boasts robust permanent removal and strong engine redundancy, though its lack of stack interaction and limited instant-speed protection leave it vulnerable to fast noncreature combo decks and sweepers.
