Slaughter of the Soul by jmajewicz23

Format: Commander

Commander: Meren of Clan Nel Toth

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This is a classic Meren of Clan Nel Toth Golgari reanimator/sacrifice value engine. The deck fills its graveyard aggressively via Stitcher's Supplier, Buried Alive, Entomb, and self-mill creatures, then leverages Meren's experience-counter recursion to repeatedly return threats. The primary win conditions are infinite death-trigger combos: Gravecrawler + a sacrifice outlet (Phyrexian Altar/Ashnod's Altar) + a drain effect (Blood Artist/Zulaport Cutthroat), or Mikaeus, the Unhallowed + persist creatures (Putrid Goblin, Woodfall Primus, Puppeteer Clique) + a sacrifice outlet. Backup lines include Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord flinging a huge Lord of Extinction, Yawgmoth, Thran Physician loops, and Greater Good+Skullclamp card advantage. The deck is resilient, grindy, and capable of assembling multiple interlocking combo lines through a dense tutor package.
