Deck overview

This deck is an optimized Mono-Black Aristocrats and Attrition engine commanded by Avacyn, Angel of Horror. The deck focuses on accelerating mana through fast artifacts, rituals, and Cabal Coffers before establishing an oppressive web of sacrifice outlets, drain payoffs, and forced-sacrifice edicts. While Avacyn requires eight mana to deploy, she acts as an overwhelming lategame centerpiece: whenever a nontoken creature dies, Avacyn returns it to the battlefield at the beginning of the next end step. By looping edict creatures like Plaguecrafter and Fleshbag Marauder, the deck completely wipes opposing creature boards every turn cycle while generating enormous value with Grave Pact and Tergrid, God of Fright. Finishers like Gray Merchant of Asphodel, Kokusho, the Evening Star, and Bolas's Citadel drain opponents out rapidly. Although vulnerable to mass exile and static graveyard hate, the deck boasts immense redundancy, high-velocity card flow, and multiple independent winning lines.
