Deck overview

This deck is an Izzet artifact burn strategy led by Shao Jun. The game plan focuses on building a dense board of diverse artifact tokens, including Treasures, Clues, Food, Maps, and Blood. Once an artifact foundation is established, Shao Jun converts these tokens into table-wide direct damage using her Rope Dart ability, which taps artifacts rather than sacrificing them. Support cards like Unwinding Clock dramatically accelerate this clock by untapping all artifacts on each opponent's turn, allowing repeated activations. Damage amplifiers like Mechanized Warfare and secondary pingers like Reckless Fireweaver increase the damage output. The deck protects its board with flexible counterspells such as Three Steps Ahead and uses asymmetric interaction like Desynchronization to clear opposing boards while keeping historic permanents intact. It reliably establishes its engine around Turn 4, presents lethal pressure on Turn 6, and burns out the entire table by Turn 8.
