Let's Make A Deal by ChildofMischief

Format: Commander

Commander: Maralen of the Mornsong

Bracket: 4

DeckCheck Threat Index: 51

Deck overview

This mono-black combo-control deck leverages Maralen of the Mornsong in conjunction with explosive black mana ramp, universal tutors, and asymmetric stax locks. Rather than relying on drawing cards naturally, the deck uses Maralen alongside Opposition Agent to deny opponents their draw step while stealing their best cards. Simultaneously, the deck is packed with redundant two-card infinite drain combos featuring Exquisite Blood or Bloodthirsty Conqueror paired with Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose, Sanguine Bond, or Enduring Tenacity. Powerful acceleration like Dark Ritual, Cabal Coffers, and Bolas's Citadel enables rapid deployment of lethal threats or devastating finishers such as Torment of Hailfire and Exsanguinate. While the deck is capable of closing games instantly on Turn 4, its primary vulnerabilities stem from mono-black's limited enchantment and stack interaction.
