Deck overview

This deck is a Grixis spellslinger strategy led by Fire Lord Azula. Azula generates two red mana upon attacking and automatically copies every spell you cast while she is attacking. The deck leverages this ability by stocking up on instant-speed combat tricks, card-draw spells, and burn effects that double in impact during combat. Secondary engines like Veyran, Voice of Duality, Ashling, Flame Dancer, and Balmor, Battlemage Captain turn single-mana instants into massive board buffs and direct damage. A robust interaction suite featuring free spells like Deflecting Swat and Fierce Guardianship ensures Azula survives combat steps to connect for lethal commander damage. While tap lands introduce early tempo friction, the deck shifts rapidly into a lethal combat clock once Azula begins swinging.
