Format: Commander

Commander: Reaper King

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

This is a five-color Scarecrow tribal deck built around the legendary Reaper King, using the commander's "destroy target permanent" trigger as the entire engine. The plan is to flood the battlefield with Scarecrows and changelings, then use a dense flicker package - Ephemerate, Ghostly Flicker, Momentary Blink, and Eerie Interlude - to re-trigger Reaper King and dismantle opponents' boards one permanent at a time. The deck is not a combo deck; it wins by grinding out card and permanent advantage, removing blockers, and finishing with a wide Scarecrow beatdown. Changelings like Universal Automaton and Irregular Cohort are critical because they count as Scarecrows, while the mana Scarecrows such as Scarecrow Guide and Shire Scarecrow provide fixing in all five colors. Secondary value comes from Rendmaw, Creaking Nest's goaded Birds, Osseous Sticktwister's forced sacrifice/discard, and The Reaper, King No More's theft ability.
