Deck overview

This deck is a Gruul creature-aggro strategy commanded by Halana and Alena, Partners. The game plan revolves around playing efficient Werewolf and Human creatures in the early turns, casting the commander on Turn 4, and utilizing its beginning-of-combat trigger to distribute +1/+1 counters and grant haste. By turning mid-sized creatures into lethal beaters, the deck steadily pressures opposing life totals through combat. Key payoffs like Shared Animosity, Garruk's Uprising, and Kessig Cagebreakers amplify the board's offensive output and maintain card velocity. The deck relies primarily on fair creature combat and creature-based fight spells rather than infinite combos or fast mana. Its primary clock establishes a threatening board around Turn 6, aiming to eliminate the table by Turn 9 across multiple attack rotations. While highly consistent at developing threatening combat boards, the deck suffers from prolonged exposure to sweepers, minimal protection, and a lack of stack interaction.
