Hoard of Treasures by ndoyle300

Format: Commander

Commander: Smaug the Impenetrable

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Smaug the Impenetrable heads a Rakdos Treasure-combo deck. Its primary plan is to cast the seven-mana commander, turn noncombat damage to him into Treasures, and convert that mana into lethal spells or repeated triggers. The fastest line uses Chain Lightning on Smaug, Mayhem Devil, and repeated {R}{R} copy payments; each copy makes three Treasures and each payment triggers Mayhem Devil. Secondary paths include Treasure-fueled Dragon combat, Exsanguinate, Knuckles the Echidna's artifact count win, and Dawnsire, Sunstar Dreadnought with Pain for All plus a self-damage enabler. Smaug the Magnificent is the hidden commander-style alternate threat. The commander is single-faced, so there is no second face to evaluate.
