Deck overview

This is an Esper spellslinger/control deck helmed by Y'shtola, Night's Blessed, built around chaining noncreature spells with mana value 3 or greater. Every such spell deals 2 damage to each opponent and gains you 2 life, and the deck is packed with redundant payoffs for the same trigger - Papalymo Totolymo, G'raha Tia, Scion Reborn, Hermes, Overseer of Elpis, Jin-Gitaxias // The Great Synthesis, and Valeria Richards, Precocious - plus a dense cost-reduction package (Lyse Hext, Baral, Chief of Compliance, Stormscape Familiar, Jet Medallion) to chain multiple spells per turn. The life gain is converted into additional drain via Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose and Enduring Tenacity, while Queza, Augur of Agonies turns the draw engines into more damage. The deck closes games with a large Exsanguinate or an Akroma's Will-empowered token swing, protected by an elite counterspell and instant-speed removal suite.
