Deck overview

This deck is a Dimir surveil reanimator strategy commanded by Mirko, Obsessive Theorist. The primary game plan fills the graveyard early using efficient surveil cantrips, self-mill, and targeted tutors like Entomb and Buried Alive. Once Mirko enters the battlefield, every surveil action increases his power with +1/+1 counters, allowing his free end-step trigger to return increasingly powerful creatures directly to play. The deck's primary win condition revolves around reanimating overwhelming attrition engines—specifically Archon of Cruelty, Sheoldred, Whispering One, and Massacre Wurm—and multiplying their triggers using versatile clone creatures like Auton Soldier and Clever Impersonator. Counter-manipulation tools such as Power Conduit and Soul Diviner remove finality counters to keep reanimated creatures from being exiled when they die. With a robust interaction package of cheap counterspells and efficient removal, the deck controls the stack, grinds out opponents with asymmetric resource denial, and closes the game through massive evasive combat damage.
