Deck overview

This deck is a high-tempo Grixis spellslinger and combat-midrange deck commanded by Fire Lord Azula. The primary strategy revolves around deploying Azula on curve and declaring attacks to trigger firebending 2, generating {R}{R} mana while activating her continuous ability to duplicate any spell cast during combat. By casting efficient combat tricks like Bulk Up or Fists of Flame, the deck doubles their effects to rapidly threaten lethal commander damage or build overwhelming card advantage. A dense suite of Magecraft payoffs, including Archmage Emeritus, Sedgemoor Witch, and Ashling, Flame Dancer, capitalizes on spell copying to flood the board with tokens, burn opposing life totals, and draw cards. The deck supports this aggressive core with premium instant-speed interaction, flexible MDFC lands, and free protection spells such as Fierce Guardianship and Deadly Rollick. Backup threats like Ozai, the Phoenix King ensure consistent offensive pressure even if the commander is removed.
