Deck overview

This deck is a Sultai X-spells and Hydra tribal midrange list commanded by Zaxara, the Exemplary. The primary strategy focuses on deploying two-mana ramp spells in the early turns, casting Zaxara on Turn 3, and leveraging its mana ability and token generation to double the value of every X-spell cast. Large Hydra threats scale rapidly with +1/+1 counter multipliers like Branching Evolution and Unbound Flourishing, while cards like Garruk's Uprising and Duskshell Crawler ensure that tall beaters can push past blockers with trample. The deck draws large volumes of cards using scalable spells like Hydroid Krasis and Pull from Tomorrow, eventually closing the game through massive combat damage backed by Craterhoof Behemoth or an unblockable swing with Open into Wonder. Because it does not run infinite mana auras, it plays an honest, resilient ramp-and-stomp game.
