Deck overview

This deck leverages Lorehold, the Historian to turn high-mana instants and sorceries into devastating two-mana miracle plays. By triggering a discard-and-draw rummage on each opponent's upkeep, the deck can cast game-altering sorceries at instant speed on opposing turns. Top-deck manipulation tools like Library of Leng, Penance, Scroll Rack, and Sensei's Divining Top allow you to place massive spells directly onto your library before an upkeep trigger fires. The deck ramps on early turns, establishes its commander on Turn 4, and drops massive threats like Storm Herd, Rise of the Eldrazi, Soulfire Eruption, or Approach of the Second Sun on Turn 5. An efficient Boros protection suite with Deflecting Swat and Flawless Maneuver shields the dragon while high-impact sweepers keep the board manageable until lethal damage or alternate win conditions finish the game.
