Deck overview

This Bant control deck helmed by Estrid, the Masked focuses on building an impenetrable pillowfort to grind games to a halt before securing victory with Approach of the Second Sun. In the opening turns, the deck accelerates its mana using efficient two-mana ramp spells and mana dorks, transitioning into oppressive defensive permanents such as Ghostly Prison, Sphere of Safety, and Kismet. Estrid, the Masked supports this strategy by generating Umbra armor tokens to shield key permanents and untapping enchanted permanents for extra mana. Opponents face severe combat taxes, damage prevention effects like Energy Field and Rest in Peace, and a robust suite of removal and sweepers including Cyclonic Rift and Supreme Verdict. Once the board state is stabilized, the deck casts Approach of the Second Sun, digs through the upper cards of the library, and recasts it to win the game cleanly without relying on complex combat steps.
