Green does green by user8369216

Format: Commander

Commander: Kona, Rescue Beastie

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

Kona, Rescue Beastie pilots a mono-green "cheat into play" strategy that aims to accelerate out massive permanents. The deck ramps early with mana dorks and land-search spells, then casts Kona, taps it (via attack or abilities like Springleaf Drum), and puts a high-mana-value card from hand onto the battlefield at the beginning of the second main phase. The primary win condition is overwhelming combat damage from threats like Darksteel Colossus, Paladin of Predation (which can also win via poison), and Terastodon. The deck includes a modest suite of protection spells and removal, but relies heavily on the commander for its explosive plays. Without Kona, the deck defaults to a slower ramp-and-smash game.
