Deck overview

This deck is a Rakdos combo-burn strategy designed around Smaug the Impenetrable. Because Smaug is an 8/7 creature with flying, indestructible, and haste that creates Treasure tokens whenever it takes noncombat damage, the deck turns red damage sweepers and burn spells into massive mana and life-loss bursts. Early turns focus on establishing mana rocks and deploying drain payoffs like Mirkwood Bats, Nadier's Nightblade, or Mayhem Devil. On Turn 6, the deck casts Smaug and immediately damages it with spells like Cut Propulsion or Blasphemous Act to create 13 to 16 Treasures. Sacrificing and creating these tokens quickly drains the table for 26 to 32 damage while Smaug attacks for lethal chunks of damage. The deck backs up this primary line with group-slug attrition and heavy dragons.
