Deck overview

This Grixis deck blends a dedicated reanimator package with the resilient midrange engine of Sauron, the Dark Lord. The primary strategy focuses on pitching enormous threats such as Archon of Cruelty, The Balrog of Moria, and Sheoldred, Whispering One into the graveyard with Entomb, Buried Alive, or Faithless Looting, then cheating them into play on turn 4 using Reanimate, Animate Dead, or Necromancy. Once deployed, these threats impose heavy attrition through forced sacrifices and discard while Sauron amasses Orc armies and repeatedly wheels the hand into four fresh cards. The deck backs up this combat and attrition plan with a synergistic package of seven Nazgûl and Lord of the Nazgûl, as well as an infinite combo via Worldgorger Dragon and Animate Dead that can finish games with Mount Doom. Free interaction spells and efficient countermagic ensure the deck defends its board while methodically dismantling opposing strategies.
