Deck overview

This Mardu deck utilizes life total as a flexible resource to generate extreme card velocity and assemble sudden lethal combos. Piloted by Licia, Sanguine Tribune, the deck exploits life gain to reduce casting costs and life payments to fuel massive card draw via spells like Stinging Study, Necrologia, Greed, and Bolas's Citadel. The primary route to victory is the infinite drain loop between Exquisite Blood and damage/drain enablers like Sanguine Bond, Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose, or Vizkopa Guildmage. Alternatively, the deck can pump Wall of Blood or Licia to lethal thresholds and clear the table with Chandra's Ignition, or swap low life totals using Repay in Kind and Magus of the Mirror. The deck boasts efficient removal and high resilience through deep draw reserves, though it remains vulnerable to stack-based interaction and fast combo decks due to a lack of counterspells.
