Format: Commander

Commander: Strefan, Maurer Progenitor

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Strefan, Maurer Progenitor leads a Rakdos Vampire deck built around swarming with Vampires, generating Blood tokens, and cheating threats into combat. The primary plan is wide/midrange attack pressure with lifegain payoffs and Blood-token value engines, while assembling an infinite life-drain combo as an alternate finish. Strefan both accelerates Vampire deployment and provides protection from sorcery-speed removal via his end-step trigger. The deck also includes a hidden 'Blood/artifact payoff' package: token creators and sacrifice outlets support drain effects like Mirkwood Bats, Mayhem Devil, and Marionette Master. Most lines are creature-based and depend on having a battlefield presence, but the combo can win without the commander. The deck is a flexible midrange build that can pivot between combat, drain, and combo depending on the table.
