Deck overview

This deck is an aggressive Boros Voltron strategy built around Lightning, Army of One. It accelerates mana on early turns with low-cost mana rocks and lands, deploys the commander on turn 3, and suits her up with evasive or power-multiplying Equipment on turn 4. Lightning's native first strike, trample, and lifelink ensure she forces through combat damage, while her Stagger ability doubles all subsequent damage dealt to the defending player until your next turn. Combining Stagger with double strike enablers like Duelist's Heritage or extra combat steps from Aurelia, the Warleader and Combat Celebrant allows the deck to eliminate opponents sequentially in one or two attacks each. A deep package of cheap protective instants and equipment shields Lightning from targeted removal and sweepers.
