Deck overview

Tayam, Luminous Enigma is a counter-based Abzan stax/combo deck. The primary plan is to accelerate into Tayam early, use its activated ability to mill and recur small permanents, and choke opponents with hate bears and stax pieces. Secondary paths are self-contained creature-mana loops-Basking Broodscale with Long Feng and Rosie Cotton, or Cryptolith Rite/Earthcraft/Patrol Signaler-that generate infinite tokens and mana and finish in one combat. Tayam serves as the recursion engine and one of the combo outlets; there is no hidden commander, and the deck can still win through its independent loops if Tayam is not cast. The very low mana curve and dense fetchland mana base allow explosive turn 3-4 development, but the lack of free interaction makes the win reliant on timing and protection.
