Deck overview

This Boros deck harnesses Lightning, Army of One to execute rapid, high-damage player eliminations through the Stagger mechanic. By combining Lightning's native first strike and trample with double strike equipment or damage multipliers, the deck doubles regular combat damage to take opponents from full health to zero in single combat steps. A dense package of low-mana acceleration and equipment tutors ensures that Lightning deploys on Turn 3 and attacks with lethal power by Turn 4. The deck builds upon initial eliminations using an extensive suite of extra combat creatures, such as Aurelia, the Warleader, Karlach, Fury of Avernus, and Moraug, Fury of Akoum, alongside postcombat mana generation from Neheb, the Eternal. Robust protection pieces like Deflecting Swat, Flawless Maneuver, and Grand Abolisher safeguard critical combat windows against opposing removal.
