Deck overview

This deck is a Rakdos midrange Dragon tribal strategy centered on Smaug, Wicked Worm. The game plan focuses on generating early mana velocity through Treasure tokens and tribal cost-reducers like Dragonlord's Servant and Dragonspeaker Shaman. Casting Smaug establishes a steady card-advantage engine that converts spent Treasure mana into fresh cards and life loss. The mid-to-late game transitions into deploying massive flying threats, including Lathliss, Dragon Queen, Utvara Hellkite, Ancient Copper Dragon, and Cavern-Hoard Dragon. These heavy hitters overwhelm opponents in combat while Dragon Tempest, Mayhem Devil, and Mirkwood Bats punish the table with direct damage triggers whenever artifacts enter, leave, or Dragons fly into combat. While the deck boasts high redundancy and potent independent threats, it runs minimal instant-speed interaction and protection, making proactive deployment and aggressive combat sequencing essential.
