Bracket: 2

Deck overview

This Orzhov Aura deck, helmed by Scriv, the Obligator, aims to control the combat step through goad effects while generating incremental value from Auras. The commander creates Contract tokens on ETB and attack, which either buff attacking creatures or drain opponents. The deck leverages a dense Aura package with synergies from Sram, Senior Edificer, Kor Spiritdancer, and Hateful Eidolon for card flow, while Eriette of the Charmed Apple provides a passive life-drain win condition. Token doublers like Exalted Sunborn and Elspeth, Storm Slayer amplify the goad and drain plan. The primary win path is accumulating Auras to drain via Eriette or overwhelming opponents with goaded creatures and a finisher like Eldrazi Conscription. The deck lacks fast mana and combos, relying on gradual board presence and political manipulation.
