Deck overview

This deck is a Golgari Spider typal midrange engine helmed by Shelob, Child of Ungoliant. The primary strategy focuses on deploying resilient Spiders during the early turns while ramping into Shelob on Turn 5. Once Shelob enters, she grants all Spiders deathtouch and ward {2}, transforming your defensive web into a lethal combat barrier and converting dying opposing creatures into Food artifact copies. The deck leverages token generation from Spider Spawning, Arasta of the Endless Web, and Ishkanah, Grafwidow, combining wide boards with life-drain effects like Mirkwood Bats, Bastion of Remembrance, and Rotwidow Pack. Evasion via Cover of Darkness and asymmetric wipes such as Kindred Dominance clear the path for multi-turn combat victories. While the deck boasts formidable creature combat control and robust graveyard recursion with Living Death, its reliance on multi-turn combat swings leaves it vulnerable to non-damage exile sweepers and fast spell-based combo decks.
