Deck overview

This deck is an Orzhov Superfriends control deck commanded by Lae'zel, Vlaakith's Champion and Scion of Halaster. The primary strategy focuses on deploying Lae'zel early to modify counter placement, allowing planeswalkers to enter with extra loyalty and tick up toward ultimate abilities twice as fast. Meanwhile, Scion of Halaster provides consistent early card selection and graveyard stocking. The deck stabilizes the board using defensive creatures like Tomik, Orzhov Lawmage, token blockers from walkers like Gideon, Ally of Zendikar, and asymmetric sweepers like Urza's Ruinous Blast. Once a planeswalker resolves an ultimate emblem—such as Elspeth, Sun's Champion granting flying and power buffs—the deck turns its defensive tokens into an overwhelming combat force to eliminate opponents over two to three turn cycles. Strong protective instants and mass reanimation ensure high resilience against opposing interaction.
