Deck overview

This deck is an Orzhov lifegain combo-control strategy led by Amalia Benavides Aguirre. The game plan leverages low-cost lifegain triggers to activate Amalia's explore ability, smoothing land drops and filling the graveyard while developing mana velocity. The deck transitions into a lethal finish via deterministic two-card infinite drain loops, combining Exquisite Blood or Bloodthirsty Conqueror with drain effects like Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose, Sanguine Bond, or Enduring Tenacity. An extensive interactive suite of efficient spot exile, board sweepers, and stax elements like Linvala, Keeper of Silence controls opposing boards. High-tier protection spells, including Grand Abolisher, Silence, Flawless Maneuver, and Teferi's Protection, ensure combo attempts resolve cleanly. Even without the commander, the deck operates with full independence through dense redundancy and versatile black tutors.
