Deck overview

This Abzan deck utilizes Felothar the Steadfast to turn cheap, high-toughness defenders into formidable combat threats. Early turns focus on developing efficient ramp and high-toughness bodies like Wall of Blossoms, Overgrown Battlement, and Indomitable Ancients. Once Felothar or redundant pieces like Doran, the Siege Tower hit the battlefield, defenders can attack and deal lethal combat damage equal to their toughness. Felothar also provides a massive card advantage engine, converting high-toughness fodder into fresh hands of 4 to 10 cards. The deck leverages asymmetric board wipes such as Slaughter the Strong and Destined Confrontation that clear opposing boards while leaving low-power walls intact. Protective elements like Bedrock Tortoise and Dragonlord Dromoka ensure smooth combat phases, leading to sequential player eliminations between turns 5 and 7.
