Deck overview

This mono-red deck commands Smaug the Magnificent to turn accumulated Treasure tokens into lethal combat and direct burn damage. The early game focuses on setting up mana rocks and Treasure generators like Arcane Signet, Collector's Vault, and Magda, the Hoardmaster. Smaug enters the battlefield on Turn 4, attacking immediately thanks to flying and haste while growing a personal hoard of artifacts. Mid-game turns escalate damage through amplifiers such as Gratuitous Violence, Goblin Goliath, and Fireshrieker, allowing Smaug's attack triggers to wipe out key blockers or chunk opponent life totals. If Smaug is removed, haste and banked Treasures ensure rapid commander recasts, while backup bombs like Etali, Primal Storm and Hellkite Tyrant sustain pressure. The deck operates as a focused aggro and burn engine, though it remains vulnerable to enchantment-based threats, artifact sweepers, and prolonged multi-opponent combat rotations.
