Deck overview

This Golgari deck is commanded by Blech, Loafing Pest, converting repeated lifegain triggers into permanent +1/+1 counters across Pests, Bats, Insects, Snakes, and Spiders. The deck accelerates in the early turns using two-mana ramp spells, curves into Blech on Turn 3, and establishes a wide swarm of typal tokens through cards like Scute Swarm, Pest Summoning, and Iridescent Hornbeetle. Incremental lifegain from sources like Bogwater Lumaret, Eumidian Terrabotanist, and lifegain lands triggers Blech multiple times per turn cycle, rapidly inflating the power and toughness of your board. The deck wins primarily through overwhelming combat damage supported by trample and menace from Blossoming Bogbeast, Hagra Constrictor, and Root Manipulation, backed by direct life-drain triggers from Mirkwood Bats, Defiling Daemogoth, and Enduring Tenacity. While highly synergistic and resilient to single target removal, the strategy requires careful management against mass creature board wipes due to a light protective suite.
