Deck overview

Frodo and Sam lead an Abzan Food-and-life engine. The deck's primary plan is to stockpile Food tokens, activate them cheaply with Sam's discount, and convert that life into cards, +1/+1 counters, and damage. Bilbo amplifies every life gain, while Gollum turns one massive life-gain turn into a lethal end-step drain. Secondary paths use Pippin's +3/+3 overrun to finish with either a giant Feasting Hobbit or a swarm of lifelink Soldiers from Merry. The hidden commander pair is Merry and Pippin, who tutor each other and create the Food engine. It is a resilient value deck that needs to build around Food before converting into a one-shot drain or combat kill.
