Deck overview

This deck is a mid-power Grixis cascade and Demon tribal deck commanded by Abaddon the Despoiler. Its game plan focuses on utilizing early mana artifacts and low-cost life-loss engines, such as Sanctum of Stone Fangs and Thermo-Alchemist, to soften opponents and guarantee that life is lost during each of your turns. Once Abaddon enters the battlefield, this life loss gives spells cast from hand cascade, allowing you to cast expensive Demon threats and burn spells while cheating additional spells onto the board for free. Key payoffs like Keeper of Secrets, Be'lakor, the Dark Master, and Warstorm Surge convert every free cascade cast and creature entrance into massive bursts of direct damage to opposing life totals. While the deck possesses tremendous mid-game snowball potential and solid card replenishment, it operates almost entirely at sorcery speed, relies heavily on combat connections, and features minimal defensive countermagic to protect Abaddon from targeted removal.
