Cheapo Azula by user6407971

Format: Commander

Commander: Fire Lord Azula

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

This is a Grixis spell-slinger deck that turns Fire Lord Azula into a combat-phase copy engine. The core plan is to attack with Azula, use her Firebending mana to cast cheap red instants, and copy every spell for doubled pump, card filtering, and drain triggers. The deck is packed with interchangeable combat tricks, so a single copied Bulk Up can turn Azula into a lethal commander-damage threat, while Guttersnipe, Firebrand Archer, and Erebor Flamesmith convert each original cast into table-wide reach. Dual Strike, Rootha, Mercurial Artist, and copied permanent spells like Aspect of Manticore provide additional layering. The deck has no infinite combos or dedicated tutors; it wins through repeated Voltron attacks, copied burn, and the occasional Fling finish. It is heavily dependent on Azula staying on the battlefield and on being able to resolve several spells per combat.
