Deck overview

This Simic deck commands the ocean depths by leveraging Kiora, Sovereign of the Deep to cheat massive Krakens, Leviathans, Octopuses, and Serpents directly onto the battlefield. An efficient green-based ramp package accelerates mana development during turns 1 through 3, enabling a turn 4 Kiora deployment. Starting on turn 5, each high-cost Sea Monster cast from hand triggers Kiora's pseudo-cascade ability, looking at the top X cards of the library to cast a second major spell for free. The deck dominates the board with asymmetric board wipes such as Whelming Wave and Scourge of Fleets, which return opposing armies while leaving your sea monsters unharmed. With evasion from Serpent of Yawning Depths, exponential token generation from Spawning Kraken, and resilient engines like Koma, Cosmos Serpent and Hullbreaker Horror, the deck steadily crushes the opposition through overwhelming combat damage by turn 7.
