Deck overview

Helmed by Zask, Skittering Swarmlord, this deck is a graveyard-centric Insect tribal deck that aims to generate overwhelming board presence through self-mill and recursion. Zask allows you to play lands and cast Insect spells from your graveyard, turning milling into a resource engine. The primary game plan is to fill the graveyard via cards like Crawling Infestation and Carrion Grub, then deploy token armies from Hornet Queen, Izoni, Thousand-Eyed, and Aatchik, Emerald Radian while piling up +1/+1 counters with cards like Mazirek, Kraul Death Priest. A secondary poison/infect subtheme uses Phyrexian Swarmlord and small fliers like Plague Stinger. The deck wins through combat-swarming opponents with a wide board of enhanced Insects or draining life with Aatchik triggers. Despite its synergy, the deck is severely hamstrung by an abysmal land count.
