The Lord of the Eagels v3 by Gibbarius

Format: Commander

Commander: The Lord of the Eagles

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is a Mono-Blue flying-tribal deck that uses The Lord of the Eagles as a heavily discounted 8/8 finisher. Cheap and midrange flyers - Augury Owl, Ledger Shredder, Vantress Gargoyle - power down the commander's cost while Donal, Herald of Wings doubles the best nonlegendary flier each turn and Vulture, Feathered Fiend grows the whole board and draws cards on contact. Combat-damage draw engines like Bident of Thassa, Coastal Piracy, and Enduring Curiosity keep the hand full, while a compact counterspell and bounce suite clears blockers and stops sweepers. The primary win is evasive combat damage, often made unblockable by Archetype of Imagination, with Rogue's Passage as a backstop. A secondary, longer-game kill comes from High Tide-fueled mana into The Water Crystal to mill opponents. The commander is a finisher rather than the engine; the deck can operate at full strength without ever casting him.
