Deck overview

This Dimir deck focuses on Marvo, Deep Operative to cheat massive sea monsters and game-ending enchantments into play ahead of schedule. The early game focuses on setting up the top of the library with scry and surveil cantrips like Diabolic Vision, Contingency Plan, and Portent to ensure Marvo wins every clash trigger. On turn 5, Marvo enters the battlefield with a durable 1/8 body. Starting on turn 6, Marvo attacks, triggers clash, draws a card, and casts spells with mana value 8 or less for free. The deck leverages high-impact beaters like Stormtide Leviathan, Hullbreaker Horror, Lorthos, the Tidemaker, and One with the Multiverse to overwhelm opponents through combat damage and persistent board control. Heavy sweepers like Blood Money and Decree of Pain clear opposing boards, while counterspells defend key plays.
