Deck overview

This deck is an Esper Sphinx tribal midrange strategy commanded by Yennett, Cryptic Sovereign. The primary game plan revolves around developing mana through lands and mid-cost ramp, casting Yennett on Turn 4 or 5, and using her combat trigger to cheat large odd-cost spells and Sphinxes into play. The deck applies mounting aerial pressure with heavy hitters like Magister Sphinx, Consecrated Sphinx, and Sphinx of Uthuun, while leveraging tribal multipliers like Kindred Discovery and Reflections of Littjara for continuous resource generation. A sharp package of single-target removal and efficient countermagic—featuring Force of Will, Void Rend, and Swords to Plowshares—protects the commander and disrupts key opposing threats. Because it lacks dedicated topdeck tutors, the deck functions as a resilient midrange combat engine that overwhelms opponents in the air over several turns rather than executing an early combo kill.
