Deck overview

This deck combines Azorius control, tax pieces, lifegain, and mill synergies under Hope Estheim. The strategy uses early lifegain sources like Authority of the Consuls and Soul Warden to fuel Hope's end-step mill trigger, while pillowfort cards like Ghostly Prison and Propaganda slow aggressive pressure. It relies on equipment such as Commander's Plate and Whispersilk Cloak to let Hope attack safely, generating steady lifegain and chipping away at libraries. To close the game, the deck transitions into high-impact finishers like Felidar Sovereign for an upkeep win, or Bruvac the Grandiloquent alongside Traumatize to decimate opposing libraries. While it features strong staples and tax effects, the deck runs a high land count (44 lands) and lacks dense creature tutors, making it play as a patient, mid-speed control deck that grinds out value before sticking a decisive finisher.
